Executive Angler Package

Our Executive angler package is for those who prefer the most out of their fly fishing experience. It`s private guiding for 1 or 2 people with the option of either a full or half day. On the full day access can be achieved into some of the more back country rivers where large rainbow and brown trout are not uncommon. On the half if time is limited, you still can explore some of the most productive waters in the area. With this package your guide will show you some of the best locations around the Taupo region also showing you all the local techniques to better your fly fishing success.

Our share trip half day package is designed to give the customer who may have a limited budget a professional introduction to this renowned gentleman's sport. With a maximum of three anglers to one guide per trip you may share your time with other clients whilst fishing closer proximity waters. On this package we will give the clients a solid grounding in the ability to successfully cast and attract trout with a fly rod rigged with light tackle. Also providing them with the ability to play and land these wild rainbow and brown trout from our rivers and streams that our region has become world famous for.

The central north island has outstanding wilderness rivers offering true trophy fishing in some of the best pristine New Zealand wilderness areas. Accessed by only a 20min helicopter flight into back-country areas that can take up to a 3 day walk. This is a thrilling way to start your experience, nymph and dry fly fishing for sighted browns and rainbows with the chance for fish up and beyond the 7lb mark.

Summertime means, light leaders and tiny nymphs, dry flies, nylon that's invisible to trout, Gin clear waters and Sunshine. This is an exciting time of year December is the start of consistent dry fly action which usually runs though into April. As the days warms up, dry fly fishing comes into its own with Mayfly, Caddis, and cicadas all hatching and bringing the fish to the surface This can be some of the most exciting fishing we have all year adrenaline charged fishing to big rising fish.
Daylight is from 6am to 9.30pm and temperatures are warm but can change.

- All back country streams close 30th April Taupo Rivers remain open with winter limits.
During the winter months the trout from the Lake make there annual spawning run up the many tributaries and stream along the eastern shores of Lake Taupo. during this time if the conditions are right it is not uncommon to have hundreds of prime fish move into the many tributaries This Time of the year is what makes the Taupo Fisheries world Famous. Expect to catch all prime condition fish mainly Rainbow with a few Browns; averaging 4 to 5 pounds with the odd bigger specimen over the 7 pound mark, The Trout here are all wild and not stocked, they all fight hard and can test the skills of even the most hardened angler.
Daylight is from 6.45am to 5.30pm and temperatures can be mild to cool.
